Maisto 1/18 scale die-cast cars are generally very nice to extremely nice for the money. This one even more so than normal. The paint finish and opening panel fit are very nice. The working suspension springs and steerable front wheels are a nice touch. The 500K has even more added details such as the gear select pattern on the shifter knob, and “glass” gage face covers.My example was a particularly nice deal as I purchased it from Amazon warehouse for about 30-45% off the current Amazon Prime price. The car and its display box were in indistinguishable from new condition. As with most 1/18 scale die cast models this is meant mainly to be a display model. The 500Kwith its added detail would make a poor choice for a toy, it will roll and steer but surely many detail parts are bound to break off in short order . The working suspension and steering would likely hold up to drops of an inch or so, but no more. The 500K in 1/18 scale makes an imposing display piece.

Maisto has scored a big win with this 1:18 model. Dimensions 11″L x 4.5″W x 3″H, diecast with some plastic parts, tyres are rubber, the steering turns with the tyres, doors, trunk and hidden seat open. The details are impressive, has anice weight. if you’re a collector or just love the classic cars, this is definite great addition to your collection. The only downside is that this model might overshadow your other collectibles. It’s a star!!!

Unreal.All I could think of is, “How could Maisto sell a car so cheap with this much attention to detail?”For $29.95 I wasn’t expecting what I got.The detial in the interior this car is impressive, from the lense covered instrument gages on the dash board the stick shifter and pedals on the floor to the chassis beneath.The exterior styling is updated from an earlier version to include running board compartments and a spare tire on each side.This car comes with 8 wheels and all have real spokes.the engine compartment is a work of art with detailed engine components and wiring.The car also has a working suspension and the steering wheel is connected to the wheels.One con is the steering only really works in one direction. It is either a design flaw or a flaw created in packing it.Noticable when examining the car but otherwise undetectable.Even the hidden Rumble seat in the rear is detailed.The color white is perfect for this model, the previous models in red or blue would not have had the same visual effect.Due to the fact that this is not a new tool the reduced costs to produce this car gave Maisto the ability to sell this car at a price that is quite reasonable.It looks like all of the additional accessories were molded from plastic and applied to the original diecast form.Of all the Diecast Cars I have ever seen or owned this is the most visually stunning and my personal favorite.

When I opened the box that this masterpiece came in I was overwhelmed by just how attractive it was. The detailing is perfect and the paint job on this car looks just like if it was a real car. There is nothing left out in the building of the Mercedes 500. The hood opens up just as it should and shows a detail created engine even with the spark pug wires connected. I have a nice collection of module cars but this one puts most of the ones I have to shame. If you gets this car people will look at it first thing and it will be a conversation piece that everyone will admire. If you put in your office desk it will show your style and reflect your knowledge of something that you just do not find everyday. It is worth every penny that you pay for it and years of pleasure that you will get for having it.

Purchased this model as a gift and am amazed by the quality of the car and the attractive attention to detail… at a great price! Yes, wanted to purchase one for me, but have resisted so far. One of the most nicely detailed cars I’ve seen, especially, within this price range.

I read the reviews before buying this car, and they were correct. It is very well made, and the doors, hood, and back seat open. It is a nice replica of the 1936 Mercedes. A great collectible car.

I am a car nut. For some reason the Mercedes Benz 540K showed up in several magazines and other formats over the past month. Accordingly, I decided to make the plunge and buy a model of this car. Maisto’s prices were not the highest nor the lowest but they do have a nice reputation, so I went with them. Boy oh boy, did I pick a winner! This model is superb in every detail. The craftsmanship in it’s assembly is above reproach. The materials that is constructed of is top notch. The colors are true, vibrant, and consistent. If you are a serious collector, I would very highly recommend this model. One caveat! This is not a child’s toy. It is far too delicate for anything less than a responsible adult to handle.

The product looks very nice, but the parts like the Mercdes logo on the hood is almost paper thin ‘metal’ and came bent at an angle and can break off any moment. Everything seems to be wobbly and fragile. Even if you consider the price, its not worth it.
