…but I think that says more about me than the product. All right– so this is THE Batmobile– the real one to a lot of us. The coolest live action superhero car, ever. Period. There have been some that come close but the Barris Batmobile still reigns surpreme. This is a hefty model– it’s got nice solid weight. It comes in a box that is going to take you 10 mins to get it out of, and then if you’re like me you’ll turn on the lights put it on your shelf and think “Okay, so why did I spend $60 on this?” Well, because it’s cool. It’s about 11″ long so I think that makes it not quite 1/18 scale, the doors, hood and trunk open. It lights up– there is no siren, I think they meant “beacon” because that lights up. It would have been neat if there was a turbine sound with it. I would have also liked the option to press a button and the lights go off for a minute or two, instead the switch is located under the car and you have to pick it up to turn it off.The figures are each about 3″ tall and they are extremely well done. In the bootleg days before we had any ’66 Batman merchandise I probably would have dropped $60 on these alone. Very cool, a little clumsy but they capture the spirit of Adam West and Burt Ward. Robin can stand in his seat in the Batmobile for display purposes but poor Batman kind of looks like he’s trying to remember where he left his keys. The wheels roll but they don’t turn so you can escape from the Penguin but you’re only going in a straight line. I’m not sure I’d give this to a kid because they could kill someone if they threw this, it’s more for us grown ups who still cling to our toy memories. It’s neat. Four stars because it’s expensive and you have to manually lift the car to put the lights on and that’s about it. Diamond Select did a great Lost in Space Robot that lights up and talks at the press of a button and after a minute he shuts up and reverts to being a toy. This would have benefited from that.

Your browser does not support HTML5 video. This collectible takes me back to my childhood…watching Batman episodes on the 19 inch black and white tv (the ONLY tv we had at the time). The details are great!! The figures are heavy for their size. Both doors and hood open. And the Batmobile!!! It alone is worth the money!! I ordered it and forgot that the lights actually WORK!! When I read the attractive box it was packaged in my jaw literally dropped when I was reminded about the lights!! The one on top actually strobes like a real emergency vehicle. I was like an 8 year old on Christmas morning!! This IS NOT a critique at all, but if it had a button that played the theme song on it I’d be willing to pay twice the price!!! This car and figures gave me a BAT-GASM!! It is the crown jewel of my collection.

They’ve been pumpin’ out ’66 Batmobiles for quite a while now…I believe Mattel (HW) were one of the first to release different licensed versions since Corgi had the license in the 60’s and 70’s…there were nice, bad, and ugly Batmobiles-how many Batmobiles can one have, want, need? Jada has done a pretty nice job w/their BM releases, but I’ve only purchased a few. As far as I know this is the 1st 1:18-ish scale ’66 Batmobile that has electronics-the lights are surprisingly bright, and that was my purchasing motivation, aside from the cool diecast Batman and Robin figures. I’m not a Batmobile expert so I don’t know just how accurate or inaccurate this version is. I must say that the electronic lights make it very cool, and add something different and fun. Is it the most accurate version, most definitely not…but it’s the coolest one, and worth the cost.

They had the original series discs on sale about a year ago, and I just started watching them with my 16 year old son. I forgot how much I liked this car when I would watch the reruns as a kid in the 70’s, so I had to grab this to add to my collection of car replicas from things I like. The lights work well, it looks great on display, but I wish the stripes were more true to the show, not this orange color. That’s the only reason I’m dinging a star off the review. If you were a fan of the show and the car, and want something for display, this is a great version to get.

I would give this Batmobile a 5 star rating, but it stinks so badly that when I first opened it, the fumes caused me to vomit. I seriously thought about sending it back but really liked the looks so I finally let it air out over a few days which did help the car itself but the box and packaging are still pretty bad weeks later and the car still has an odor. I bought a display case so I can see it without smelling it but it makes access to the light-up features difficult. The lights are very cool by the way.

Yet another addition to my ever growing desktop at work, and this is a fun one. The two characters are metal, nicely detailed, but I will admit they are out of scale for the car, being much smaller than they should. The car itself is of nice quality and highly detailed as well. I purchased a warehouse version, and it was less expensive, but still packaged well. The only beef is that one of the headlights did not function, but that is not a deal breaker. I work in a highly trafficked office, so I have things like this on my desk as a conversation piece, and it is one of the more popular pieces. As with most anything that arrives Prime, it was on my door step in a very reasonable time frame, safely packaged for transport.

Very Nice Model and Figurines – Wheels Spin, but doesn’t steer: Also, no badging on the license plate with year or reference. nice weight and operating components. Wonderful figurines that don’t move, but have plastic like hands that have some flex. The box is super nice too. While I think this is a very collectible Jada Geoge Barris Scale 1:18 toy die cast, I could not let just sit in a box to appreciate. I will note that my bat man has a small blemish on the left side of is chest out of the box-which I’ll notify the Merchant. Also there are no sound effect which could have been a wonderful feature.

So I don’t collect cars, never have, some would say this is not a car its the Batmobile and they might be right, I mean I bought it out of having fond memories for the Batman T.V. series, not because its a car, however I have since adding this to the shelf been polishing it, keeping the dust off of it, keeping it shiny, changing the display position so I can see it from different angles. I’m discovering a new enjoyment in it as a collectible car. The doors open, the hood opens, the trunk opens, it lights up and its fun placing the two figures in different positions around the Batmobile. I’m having a blast just doing the fun stuff that goes along with having something in my collection that I enjoy.. I recommend this vehicle whether your interested in it as a bat-fan or as a car-fan.

I built the Polar Lights model kit of this car recently. It brought me back to when I was a kid. There has only really been one Batmobile. I went back and forth about ordering this version, but I finally bit the bullet. It came early and I almost hated to open the packaging it came in. It is that impressive. Then you open the box and remove the Batmobile and are flabbergasted. It is very heavy and extremely solid. The car is gorgeous, the lighting is impressive and iti is very detailed with a great paint job. I fully intended to throw away the figures as I don’t collect them, but they are too nice to cast off, so they are on display with the car. You don’t have to be a Batman fan to appreciate this model. I would have paid more for this Batmobile model and not complained.
